What is a Content Advocate? An advocate promotes a cause with passion. As a Content Advocate, my cause is quality content. By content, I mean ideas, words and pictures in a container. The container might be a container of containers (think website, library, curriculum, or content access architecture) or a component or standalone module (think eLearning, document, or form). Quality is measured in how well the content meets the intended audiences' needs.
As a Content Advocate, I advocate for quality across an entire content ecosystem. I’m interested in the bigger picture of how the containers are organized, and in drilling down to the containers, and the quality of what’s inside. I am keenly aware of how good iterative development and review processes lead to higher quality content and drive increased usage and impact. Can your audience easily find the content? (Architecture, Tagging, Search Engine Optimization) Does the existing content meet their needs? (Audience analysis, primary learner persona identification, gap analysis) Meet needs and fill gaps (Content culling, reorganization and curricular and technical content development) Let me help you ensure that your content is working for you and not against you! |
